Het is de bedoeling van de BVKC om richtlijnen waarbij ze op één of andere manier werd betrokken, ter beschikking te stellen voor een breed publiek. Deze richtlijnen zouden in de eerste plaats behulpzaam en bruikbaar moeten zijn in een klinisch laboratorium-setting.

OF LIPIDS AND OTHER CARDIOVASCULAR RISK BIOMARKERS
This document is an update based on the 4th Joint European Task Force for Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Prevention and recommendations of the Belgian Lipid Club (BLC).
The goal is harmonization of lipid measurement and reporting by the clinical laboratories in Belgium. Harmonization of CVD prevention strategies with lipids is necessary not only in the analytical phase, but also in the pre-analytical phase (appropriate test selection) and post-analytical phase (adequate reporting of test results, updated cutpoints and target values). With this initiative, we aim to improve CVD prevention management by clinical laboratories in Belgium and to support the clinicians to achieve their goals.
